A very sunny birthday

What a gloriously sunny day it was yesterday, perfect birthday weather! Yes, yesterday was my birthday (not too late to send cards/presents, hehe!), and although I was working from home, on hand for questions from the builders about the renovations, I still had the most lovely of days.

Getting out in the garden over lunchtime, everything had a lovely glow about it. The flowering currant (I’m really loving knowing what that one is!) looked amazing against the blue sky:

And in the evening after work, The Bert set up our little croquet set, nibbles and fizz, and we enjoyed the last of the sun, before firing up our first BBQ of the year. Just Lovely!

I was completely spoilt with cards and presents from family and friends, too many lovelies to mention! So what with that, the sunny day and our little jaunt to Slimbridge with friends at the weekend, it’s been a great birthday! and I’m hopeful for good things from the year ahead.

I hope it was a sunny day where you were and that you were able to get out and enjoy it,

About thehouseofjones

Hello! Thanks for visiting, it's lovely to see you! I'm Jones, I'm 31, and I live with my husband (The Bert) and chinchilla (JB) in Gloucestershire. When I'm not at work I love crochet, sewing, cooking, baking, taking photos and dabbling in a bit of gardening and grow-your-own, and this is what I write about mainly. That and the general chit chat of life. So, take a look around, comment if you'd like, just make yourself feel at home really!

Happy Birthday Jones!! Please accept a virtual trumpet fanfare and showering of birthday confetti. I’m so glad you got to spend it in sunshine… I have to say, croquet and fizz sounds divinely appropriate; a perfectly stylish and very British affair 😉 x
